FLUORESCENT PUPPETS, THE DESERTS, PINK STICKS & THE PARKAS @ KASBAH COVENTRY 21/03/14
Another unsigned show and another collection of young hopefuls filled the left wing of Kasbah with a collection of their own material and classic covers to get the place jumping.
Part of what’s enjoyable about these shows is that you never quite know what you’re going to get. It kicked off with the young band Fluorescent Puppets.
With a history mainly consisting of school performances, and a new singer joining the band just a week before the gig, they delivered an enjoyably tight performance with some enjoyable song choices. Although all covers, they weren’t all obvious choices. They played the crowd favorites such as ‘Seven Nation Army’ and ‘When The Sun Goes Down’ but they also closed their set with Chuck Berry’s ‘Johnny B. Goode‘. An inspired choice.
