Local music heroes join forces for charity fundraiser

Coventry’s Russian Gun Dogs will headline the first night of a charity fundraising weekend at Nuneaton’s Queens Hall on Friday 7 February.

RGD_PaulIt will be the first gig of 2014 for the Coventry music heroes, who will be supported by stars from the Nuneaton music scene including Drop Down Smiling, Only Shadows, Lady Funk & The Frequency and The Exports in raising money for Cancer Research UK.

The music continues into the weekend, with another great line-up on Saturday 8 February, headlined by The Tonics and supported by Redshift, Go Lazarus, The Ruffcuts and Murder of Crows.

Drop Down Smiling 2_Queens Hall_11_01_14Tickets for the Queens Hall event are just £5 per night or £8 for both nights of music.

2014 looks set to be an exciting year for all bands involved and the weekend will be a chance for fans to see them in action on their home turf before they gig around the UK and Europe.

Russian Gun Dogs will be taking their romantic new wave synthpop anthems to London in March, where they’ll be playing at The Water Rats (Saturday 15th March).

Only Shadows 2_Queens Hall_11_01_14Only Shadows will be taking their alt rock sound up to Manchester’s Roadhouse the night following their Nuneaton appearance (Saturday 8th February) while Drop Down Smiling will be heading to Europe for a couple of dates in the spring. The Exports have just announced that they’ll be supporting Buzzcocks on the Midlands dates of their UK tour.
